RETURN OF THE GOLDEN RACE - Trinidad & Tobago 100% Positive

Queen Quet of the Gullah/Geechee Nation Keynotes at the International Hill Rice Symposium

The Inaugural Trinidad and Tobago International Hill Rice Symposium and Festival is being hosted in commemoration of the bicentenary of the arrival of the Merikins to Trinidad, following the War of 1812 between the United States of America, and Great Britain. The arrival of this group of men and women, who are sometimes described as Black Loyalists, marked the beginning of rice cultivation in Trinidad. That tradition has continued unbroken through the past two centuries.

The cultivation of rice by the Merikins is historically connected to the more widespread economic enterprise in rice in South Carolina and Georgia in the United States of America and in what is now specificially the Gullah/Geechee Nation. Many of the original Merikin settlers came from those areas, bringing various agricultural practices with them, the principal of which was the cultivation of hill rice, also known as land rice, Creole Rice, or providential rice.  The roots of these practices lie in the Rice Coast of West Africa, and the tradition has also been established in various parts of the diaspora, including Suriname, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.

The Inaugural Trinidad and Tobago International Hill Rice Symposium and Festival seeks to bring together academics in multiple disciplines, as well as farmers and other grassroots persons to discuss various aspects of rice cultivation in West Africa and the Diaspora. It also celebrates through dance, music, song, spoken word and art etc., the practice of rice cultivation in West Africa and the Diaspora.   Some rice dishes will be done by Gullah/Geechee Nation Chef BJ Benjamin Dennis.  Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) will provide the keynote address at the symposium and will be an active part of the festival activities nationwide.

During this historic event, Queen Quet will autograph copies of her book,

"Gullah/Geechee: Africa's Seeds in the Winds of the Diaspora Volume III:

Frum Wi Soul tuh de Soil: Cotton, Rice, and Indigo."

The book is available in advance at www.gullahgeechee.biz and on Amazon.

This video exemplifies mechanized agriculture practiced right here in Trinidad and Tobago. It illustrates full scale rice production. Many locals are unaware of this technology here in the Trinidad agricultural sector.

***Bonus Video for the Curious Mind***

For people who have never seen rice cultivation before, this is a basic video just to show rice farming at every stage from start to finish and the length of time it takes to complete.

Dr Ivan Van Sertima: The Christopher Columbus Story

Interview H.I.M Queen Shebah Sai 'Ra III during Libyan Royal Visit 2007 AU Nations Anniversary

The Queen Mother heir was born in Trinidad and her family is from South Sudan, the center of the ancient empire of Kush. Kush were the architects of Nile Valley Civilization and thus builders of Egypt.

The Most Beloved Monarch in the history of humanity. Queen Mother Aset, Isis as the Greeks called her. It is her story that inspires the faith of Christianity, she was a real human phenomenon not a myth. Her bloodline is still exists, her family and relatives reside in South Sudan, which was the center of the Ancient Kushite Empire. This bloodline bore the first recognized pharaoh of Kemet/Egypt who we know historically by name of Pharaoh Menes.

Ready to decipher? The African woman was the ruler, she is pictured as older, nursing the infant king. Can we find a more current example? Yes.

Queen Mother of Toro instructing her son to be King. This is how African men became kings! Raised to greatness by their queen mothers. Women were the first organizers in human history. Women were the first stake holders, owned land, produced agricultural products that feed the multitudes of people. Men were always the Ogun/Army that protected the people. Elder men were always respected and played a key role in forming male societies.

The Lair of Bilikisu (Africa Documentary)

As before, you can call her by whatever name, for it is said, in the ancient world the queen of all women, the mother of all living, she had many names in many tongues, in many lands, and was worshiped by all the world. Call her Yemaya for Yorubas, Queen Sheba for Hebrews and Christians, Isis for those who follow Greek mysteries, Aset for those who follow Kemetic cosomology, but she is real. The first monarch on Earth.

Buried and forgotten in Oke Eri village, a half hour drive from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, is the tomb of Bilkis Sungbo. Overwhelming archaeological evidence points to this site as the final resting place of the famous Queen of Sheba who enjoys prominent mention in both the Bible and the Quran, in detailed accounts of her relationship with King Solomon. In the Old Testament, she is described as having sent a caravan of gold, ivory and other goods from her kingdom to King Solomon.

In the Koran she is an Ethiopian sun worshiper named Bilqis (Balkis) involved in the incense trade who converts to Islam. The imperial family of Ethiopia claims its origin directly from the offspring of the Queen of Sheba by King Solomon. Local legends in Ijebu area of Ogun State link a monument known as Sungbo Eredo to a wealthy childless widow named Bilikisu Sungbo. Sungbo Eredo is a rampart or system of walls and ditches that surrounds Ijebu-Ode. It is reputed to be the largest single pre-colonial monument in Africa.

It is said that Oya was a Queen who married Alaafin Sango. Oya had her own lands and they were more vast than any other monarch. Oya, the ancestor of the royal family of Oyo, wife of Sango, is known as Ayaba Sango, and she is Ayaba gbogbo le’ya obinrin, queen of all women.

Caribbean Single Market and Economy
The CARICOM Single Market and Economy is intended to benefit the people of the Region by providing more and better opportunities to produce and sell our goods and services and to attract investment. It will create one large market among the participating member states.

The main objectives of the CSME are: full use of labour (full employment) and full exploitation of the other factors of production (natural resources and capital); competitive production leading to greater variety and quantity of products and services to trade with other countries. It is expected that these objectives will in turn provide improved standards of living and work and sustained economic development.

Key elements of the Single Market and Economy include:

Free movement of goods and services - through measures such as eliminating all barriers to intra-regional movement and harmonising standards to ensure acceptability of goods and services traded;

Right of Establishment - to permit the establishment of CARICOM owned businesses in any Member State without restrictions;

A Common External Tariff - a rate of duty applied by all Members of the Market to a product imported from a country which is not a member of the market;

Free circulation - free movement of goods imported from extra regional sources which would require collection of taxes at first point of entry into the Region and the provision for sharing of collected customs revenue;

Free movement of Capital - through measures such as eliminating foreign exchange controls, convertibility of currencies (or a common currency) and integrated capital market, such as a regional stock exchange;

A Common trade policy - agreement among the members on matters related to internal and international trade and a coordinated external trade policy negotiated on a joint basis;

Free movement of labour - through measures such as removing all obstacles to intra-regional movement of skills, labour and travel, harmonising social services (education, health, etc.), providing for the transfer of social security benefits and establishing common standards and measures for accreditation and equivalency.

No one can talk of Trinidad and Tobago without mentioning the legendary Ella Andall. I listen to her music all time since my discovery of her collection. This is African Yoruba music at its finest.

The Caribbean Network of Rural Women Producers

The Caribbean Network of Rural Women Producers was launched in July 1999. With support of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture (IICA), rural women of Barbados, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago held the first meeting of CANROP in Trinidad, in association with the First Meeting of Wives and Heads of State of the Caribbean. The main goals of the Network are to provide rural women with access to credit for micro-business projects, to contribute to government policies that are sensitive to and supportive of the special needs of rural women producers, to contribute to the elimination of the gender bias in the ownership of land, ensuring that women have the same opportunities as men to own property. The Network also seeks to provide marketing support for rural women producers and to offer training, research, technical support and outreach services.

The Network of Rural Women Producers (NRWP) is the Trinidad & Tobago chapter of CANROP. NRWP has been in existence for the past 11 years. Our current membership consists of groups of rural women throughout Trinidad and Tobago and we are managed by an Executive Committee.

Help save Gullah Gee Chee land. Fighting hard for African liberation since the 17th century, descendants of Angola, the Gullah Gee Chee people, managed to preserve some of their native tongue, their ancestry culture and pride. From slave revolts to freeing other slaves, civil rights struggle, Pan-Africanism, many of the members of the famed, "Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church" of Charleston are Gullah Gee Chee descendants. Because of the low state of economy of South Carolina's Low Country, government seizure of their lands and vicious taxation, many Gullah people are losing their lands. But you can help them out with a small donation. Here is their GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/panafricanfamilyem

He is raising $5 Million dollars for a high tech private school for our young boys. If we could reach 300,000 people this would give Dr. Johnson his $5 Million for the school. A girl's school would be the next ideal mark and also Queen's club where our women can gather for they are the leaders of the family's interest.
